About Us

The city is excited to introduce Squire on the Square, a new venture by seasoned restaurateurs Bob Karas and Bill and Tammy Linardos. This dynamic partnership brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record of successful multi-unit restaurant operations, including popular establishments such as The Village Squire, Rookies, Alexander’s Café, and Old Republic Kitchen & Bar.

Woodstock Mayor Mike Turner shared his enthusiasm for this new development, stating, “This restaurant space is part of the heartbeat of downtown Woodstock and the Square. We are very excited to welcome the Squire on the Square to Woodstock and look forward to this new chapter. The City Council is confident that this new addition will honor the tradition of this beloved space and bring fresh energy and vibrancy to our community.”

Squire on the Square promises to be a modern offshoot of The Village Squire, featuring classic menu items like saganaki, gyros, steaks, pasta, fish, BBQ ribs, prime rib, Mai Tais and their famous free popcorn, as well as new, creative dishes inspired by their other successful restaurants like Ahi tuna wontons, Asian nachos, inspiring sandwiches and smoked brisket. The restaurant will offer a casual, full-service dining experience, complete with a bar, dining room, private event space, and a spacious patio.

“The Squire on the Square will be another ‘Good Place to Be,’” said Bob Karas of the Karas Restaurant Group. “We’re excited to bring this new concept to Woodstock’s historic downtown and offer residents and visitors a place to gather, enjoy great food, and create lasting memories.”

The Linardos family, including two of their children, William and Sophia, will play key roles in the management and operations of the restaurant. Their combined experience, along with their passion for customer service and innovative cuisine, ensures that Squire on the Square will quickly become a favorite dining destination in Woodstock.

Squire on the Square, located at 101 N. Johnson St., Woodstock, will be open for lunch and dinner six days a week. The City of Woodstock looks forward to the positive impact this new restaurant will have on the community and welcomes residents and visitors alike to experience this exciting new addition.
